Butler County Government

 

County Commissioners

 

Butler County Commissioners control the county budget. This includes the Butler County Care Facility, Children's Services, Child Support Enforcement Agency, Job and Family Services, and other departments.

 

Current commissioners are President Don Dixon, Vice President T.C. Rogers, and Member Cindy Carpenter (all Republicans). Both Don Dixon and T.C. Rogers are up for re-election in 2016, but they are running unopposed.

Court of Common Pleas Judges

  • Judge- currently Patricia Oney, who is not eligible for re-election. Greg Stephens, Republican, is running.

  • Juvenile Division Judge- Kathleen Romans, Democrat

  • Domestic Relations Division Judges- Barbara Carter, Republican, AND Margot Halcomb, Republican

 

Prosecuting Attorney

  • Michael Gmoser, Republican

 

Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas

  • Mary Swain, Republican

 

All of these positions are up for re-election in 2016, but all are running unopposed.

 

Butler County Sheriff

 

Richard Jones (Republican) was elected Butler County Sheriff in 2004, and was re-elected in 2008 and 2012. He is up for re-election in November 2016, and is running against Democratic candidate Dale Richter.

Coroner
