Encouraging voter participation and education in Hamilton, Ohio.
In the 2022 mid-term elections, voter turnout was 50.9%. In the 2023 local elections, turnout was 46.3%.
That means that half or more of us are not having a say in the matters that affect our daily lives and those of our children- decisions made by the Hamilton City School Board and State School Board, Hamilton Mayor and City Council, County and Municipal Judges, our Sheriff, our County Prosecuting Attorney, County Commissioners, Ohio Supreme Court Justices, our representatives to the Ohio House and Senate, and our representatives to the US House and Senate.
This is a LOT to try to keep up with! It’s overwhelming. That’s why Hamilton Votes is here to help. In addition to informing residents who and what is going to be on the ballot, Hamilton Votes will serve as a hub to direct voters where to find the information they need to educate themselves on the candidates and issues, and opportunities to meet and talk to elected officials and candidates.
Hamiltonians, it is time to stand up and use our voices!
